Barkfest & Dog Days at Old Westbury Gardens

Hi Friends!

Are you guys having a great friday?  Me, not so much, I am sick again for the 3rd or 4th time in a month.   Honestly I have lost count, I have been sick on and off since the beginning of October.  But let’s not focus on that and let’s all have a great day – the weekend is so close I can taste it.

Last weekend, I attended two Halloween pet events with Wiggily Waggily – Nassau Barkfest and Dog Days Fall Festival at Old Westbury Gardens.  By the way, did you all have a great Halloween?  If your pets got dressed up, please comment below or share your  pictures with me on IG or FB (@wiggilywaggily).  Ok, back to what I was saying….I was so excited that we were invited to participate again this year as a vendor in these events.  I really enjoy going each year.  I get to meet so many new pets and their parents – and I get to see some of my existing clients too, outside of the “office” (hehe).  It’s also a great way to catch up with other pet professionals.

Saturday I was at Nassau Barkfest at  Eisenhower Park in East Meadow and on Sunday I attended Dog Days Fall Festival at Old Westbury Gardens in Old Westbury.  They were both so much fun.  There were so many dogs in some pretty awesome costumes.  I find it so cool to see how much thought these parents put into their pets costume.  Some of them go all out and include the entire family – mom, dad, the kids, even grandma and grandpa.   My dog never liked getting dressed up, he hates it.  He doesn’t even like wearing a winter coat.  So I always love seeing other pets enjoy being in their costumes.  If you’ve never been to one, I highly suggest you do next time.  Especially if you own pets or even if you don’t, I promise you’ll have a great time.

Look at these amazing costumes….

These are only a few of my favorites.  For more pictures check out our YouTube channel.  You’ll get to see  the rest of my favorites from both events.  If you participated in one of the pet parades, you might just see your pup on there too.

A quick shout out to Jeris Pugh from The Martial ARFS, it was great seeing you again and learning more about what you guys do at Martial ARFS.  To Ginny Munger Kahn from LI-Dog, loved meeting you, finally.  Check them out, they’re a great organization doing great work to get more dog friendly parks on LI.  And last but not least to my favorite fur-kids Larah & Sage and their mom for stopping by on Sunday to say hello and going with me to see the pet parade.

Till next time!

XoXo
